Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, sales management, or marketing
  • 10 years of commercial sales management (business-to-business/B2B) experience, including 4 years of supervisory experience
  • Master's of Business Administration degree (MBA) preferred
  • Certification and/or License
    • May be required to obtain and maintain other certifications and/or licenses for continued employment

Job Description:


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large agribusiness who is seeking an experienced Director of Sales for their operation. The Director of Sales will participate in development of strategic plan, annual budget, and ongoing management of overall business. The Director of Sales leads a national network of outside sales/business development staff, inside sales department, commodity merchandising, marketing and purchasing groups toward the achievement of sales and profitability goals while ensuring member value.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with other company leaders in managing and growing the business
  • Participate in development and implementation of strategic plan and annual budget
  • Oversee development and retention of key customer relationships, industry contacts, and strategic partners
  • Implement approved distribution strategies while managing multiple channel selling strategies
  • Work directly with marketing and other staff in development of successful programs and delivery of customer value programs, ensuring goals, and objectives are attainable
  • Monitor competitor programs and evaluate market conditions to adjust strategy to meet changing needs, forecast trends, and establish key metrics in collaboration with marketing
  • Lead all aspects of sales efforts nationwide across all business lines; monitor supply and demand trends as necessary to attain sales and profitability goals guided by strategic plan
  • Supervise and lead assigned direct and indirect staff, including recruitment, coaching, evaluating, and disciplining, as appropriate
  • Set and accomplish training and development goals for sales team
  • Exhibit the values and ethics of Company through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
