- Agriculture, Ag Business or Other Ag Related Degree Preferred
- Experienced in hay production, both alfalfa and orchard grass
- Need an ambitious individual with solid hay production background
- Good equipment operating skills
- Good maintenance skills, fabrication, mechanical, and welding skills are a plus

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for experienced Hay Production Manager for this south-central Oregon hay operation. Farm has an absentee owner, so need to find a Hay Manager who can hit the ground running. Prefer 5 years related operational and management experience overseeing alfalfa hay farm operations; putting up hay, managing water, storage, etc. to manage and prioritize the daily operation of the farm. This operation normally has 3 to 4 cutting per season, so planning, scheduling and project management experience is necessary. Person must have strong equipment operating skills, mechanical aptitude and hay storage management experience. This Manager will be responsible and accountable for quality compliance, environmental stewardship, purchasing, and inventory control, efficiencies with respect to labor, production, overhead, operational budget, and profit and loss statements. Person will provide supervision and direct a small group of employees. Manager must demonstrate clear integrity and a sense of ethics and responsibility to the farm and its employees on a daily basis and serve as a model for others, while managing relationships with neighbors, community leaders and regulatory agencies. Person must have knowledge of safety policies and procedures regarding chemicals, equipment/machinery, and agricultural exempt situations. Person will effectively implement, improve and reinforce the company’s environmental health and safety programs and product food safety programs. Computer experience is required along with printers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, etc. Person will need excellent communication and negotiation skills and be willing to develop people and community relationships.
