Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Farm/Feedlot Assistant Manager for this eastern Montana operator. This position will include two primary categories of job duties – care of feedlot and range cattle, and farming. Cattle work includes feeding cattle, overseeing receiving, shipping and processing of cattle, monitoring health and doctoring sick animals, checking range cattle, and keeping records on all activities associated with the cattle. If the employee prefers to work cattle horseback, there are opportunities to do so. Farming duties include preparing fields for planting, assisting with planting crops, spraying and cultivating, and irrigating. Irrigating duties include transporting and setting irrigation pipe, maintaining and monitoring water irrigation ditches, and setting ditches and changing irrigation tubes twice a day. Routine facility maintenance, including fencing, waterer repair, and dirt work is a part of all seasonal activities, as is trucking and operating heavy equipment. Maintenance of machinery, vehicles and equipment is very critical to operations, and the employee will be expected to take a proactive approach to preventative maintenance as well as assist or perform routine maintenance and repair. Employee will often work holidays and weekends, with time off compensated on a planned basis with other employees and owners.
