Candidate Description:
This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate has a master’s degree in Agronomy and over 10 years of experience managing multi-site agricultural and plant operations. His strengths are in influencing people towards a common goal and developing and executing a strategic development plan. He is very comfortable with agronomic issues and discussions but feels his more important strengths are the ability to work with a wide range of reports and stakeholders and bring them together for a common goal. He was the general manager for a sunflower production business as it integrated from a privately owned business to part of a large corporation. His direct reports were the Field Production Manager, Plant Manager, Health and Safety Manager, Quality Manager, and the local finance controller. The primary stakeholders were mostly in Europe and over the course of 5 years they successfully integrated and grew the production to be a reliable 25,000 acres/1 million units that was packaged and delivered to Europe. In his current role he manages a farm with ~85 employees in the field, with ranches across 3 counties. In a similar situation to past roles, he came into this role in part for the purpose of re-organizing the structure of the farm to match its new size and complexity.
