PhD Small Grain Breeder

Candidate Description:

PhD Small Grain Breeder seeking a new and challenging Breeding role. I have worked with multiple small grains, fiber and oil crops including wheat. I have developed varieties in a private breeding program setting using molecular breeding and conventional breeding approach focusing on Hard Red, Hard White, Forage and Durum Wheat varieties. My experience includes experimental design, conducting experiments, field agronomic and disease data collection and statistical data analysis of field, greenhouse and lab experiments. I have developed disease testing strategies for different wheat classes and have worked to familiarize myself with several fungal, viral and bacterial wheat diseases. I have experience with pyramiding genes using marker-assisted backcrossing method and use mapping QTL/Gene and fine mapping using high density mapping procedures. I am not currently a U.S. citizen and would require Visa sponsorship. I am seeking a base salary of $100,000. I am available immediately for employment.
