This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate grew up in the agriculture industry which helped him to develop an extensive background in the agriculture field, specifically the beef industry. Starting in 4th grade he began to show cattle. Through involvement in FFA, competing in the show circuit and seeking beef-oriented internships, he has built a wide basis of knowledge regarding beef cattle production. Being involved in various agricultural organizations instilled a greater appreciation for the agriculture industry and cultivated a stronger desire to leave his mark on the beef industry. Each experience provided the opportunity to further develop his leadership, animal husbandry, and interpersonal skills. Working as an intern on a 2000 head cattle operation in the sandhills of Nebraska, proved to be the most impactful internship yet. He had the opportunity to work independently and in a team environment carrying out the daily management tasks for the breeding and market stock raised on the property. Assisted calving out 2100 head of cows and working in a 2500 head feedlot scenario was a great learning experience. Riding horses, feeding cattle, calving cows, cattle drives and learning the ropes of a cattle rancher turned out to be one of the greatest experiences in his cattle career. He will be graduating soon with his Associates Degree in Agribusiness and is eager to find a full time position in the livestock industry.
