Candidate Description:

This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate for the last 3 years has been an Agronomy Professor at a State University. He has a very strong agricultural production background with a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. from Kansas State University in Agronomy with an emphasis in precision fertility management. His current responsibilities include teaching a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses; serving on departmental, college, and university committees; serving as advisor to undergraduate students in Agriculture degree programs; serving as advisor to undergraduate Agronomy club; serving as coach for Crop Judging Team; serving as coach for Precision Ag Team; active in recruitment of students; performing dryland crop research; serving as advisor to FHSU farm; securing research funds. Prior to becoming a Professor he worked in the Ag production industry. His responsibilities included scouting fields, developing nutrient, weed, insect, disease, water, and cropping system management plans, supervision of employees, irrigation and dryland crop production, budgets, ordering inputs, water, crop, field, and harvest reports, farm equipment operation and maintenance, irrigation equipment operation and maintenance, employee evaluations; securing available funds. Have raised just about everything, but focused on native grasses for seed production, forage sorghum, wheat, triticale, corn, and soybean. He is looking to get back into production agriculture as he truly believes there is not a better a place to be or to raise a family. Will certainly consider positions such as; In-House Agronomist on farming operation, Lead position on progressive farming operation, etc. Candidate is in mid 30's who's married and they have two young kids.
