This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate has been involved in production agriculture all his life. He was Farm Foreman and Farm Shop Manager for a large, diversified row crop, small grains and commercial Angus cattle farm. Played an instrumental role in helping grow and develop the farm from a 1200-acre operation to 7500-acres. He oversaw and managed employees on the day-to-day field and shop duties. He was responsible for preparing the land to plant, planting crops, herbicide/pesticide application and harvest. He managed the cattle herd from birth to sale, ration formulation and feeding, calving, and doctoring/treating sick cattle. He worked for the same family farm for 20 years with promises to transition into taking over but the owners retired and sold out 4 years ago. Recently he has worked for John Deere dealerships as a Precision Ag Specialist and Equipment Salesperson. While he enjoys his current position and has been very successful, he misses farm life. His strengths include planning, production, execution, problem solving, financial management, people management, mechanical aptitude, equipment operation/maintenance/repair and computer office skill. He works in a very organized manner with a strong attention to detail using critical thinking and analysis.
