Candidate Description:

This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate was raised on a diverse cropping/ranching operation in the Texas Panhandle. His family raised corn, wheat, alfalfa, and grain sorghum which were irrigated and dryland. In 2002, he and his wife moved to Kansas, where we spent the next ten years working on hay and row crop farm. During his time at this operation, he managed 4 full-time and 8 seasonal employees. The acres on this operation consisted of 4,600 acres alfalfa, 1,000 corn, and 250 wheat. The day-to-day management and tasks were performed by himself and his crew. This included plant, harvest, marketing, and transportation. Upon the owner's retirement in 2008, he joined a farm operation planting to harvest on 12,000 acres farm which grew corn, wheat, alfalfa, and grain sorghum. The responsibilities and management were carried out by this candidate, the owner, and 5 other people. He went back to school in 2012 and earned a Bachelor's degree in May 2014 from Kansas State University. He been working in the milling industry for the past few years, but misses the farm life. He is looking forward to taking on the responsibilities of farm production and working together with owners/managers to help continue the success of an operation into the future.
