- BSc. Agronomy or other Ag-related degree with coursework in Plant Science, Soil Science, Plant Health and/or Plant Nutrition
- Certified Crop Advisor
- Experience with corn and soybeans required; experience with sugar beets and potatoes beneficial
- Minimum 3 years proven success selling Plant Nutrition products, including granular products, in an Ag Retail space
- Established relationships with existing Ag Retailers, Distributors and/or Large Ag Growers within the geography
- Experience developing complete Nutrient Management programs following Good Agronomic Practices
- Ability to manage personal goals, corporate objectives and maintain a customer-centric focus
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills including ability to read and understand nutritional values relating to soil, water and plant material
- Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Self-Directed/Entrepreneurial/Out-of-Box Thinker with proven ability to contribute in a team setting
- Ability to work in outdoor settings in all weather conditions as well as standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. in all weather conditions
- Currently residing/working within Minnesota, Wisconsin, or North Dakota with ability to travel to 50%


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting a firmly established Agricultural organization seeking an Area Sales Manager to transform the Upper Midwestern Agronomy market space by introducing a proven Crop Nutrition Portfolio including granular, water soluble, control-release and liquid fertilizers. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset with strong agronomic knowledge and understanding, proven Ag Sales experience, preferably with plant nutrition, and a hunger to grow a product presence within the upper Midwest from the ground up. This will include customer relationship management from the distributor to the Ag retailer and grower level with a broad portfolio of products. This individual will work closely with segment business development managers, agronomists, marketing personnel and sales operations to ensure a positive customer experience and the highest level of commercial excellence.

You will have the opportunity to:
- Build relationships with existing retail and distribution clients within the territory.
- Expand relationships with new distributors, retailers, and growers.
- Develop a sales growth plan for market expansion within the territory.
- Provide technical support to customers on the use of granular, liquid, water soluble and control release fertilizers used in Agriculture.
- Develop and execute the sales and marketing strategy through the business plan of our client including fastidious management of company funds.
- Provide market insight on competitor activity.
- Produce sales forecasts on an annual basis and in monthly updates to support ongoing SOP process.
- Represent the organization at trade shows, events, and demonstrations.
- Fully utilize a CRM tool daily recording all customer interactions and to review company reports to manage the territory.
- Know and understand the financial expectations of the sales budget.
