Salary Range: $90000 - $110000

Commission / Bonus: To $25%

- 4-Year Horticulture, Agronomy or other Ag-Related Degree required; Masters degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years Seed or Vegetable Seed industry experience preferred; will also consider individual coming from an international organization within the Ag or Food industry
- Experience working with Tomatoes and/or Green or Red Peppers beneficial
- Experience working with Distribution Models, Production Life Cycles including Forecasting/Budgeting
- Ability to understand Markets within California and Mexico Ag
- Ability to Manage a Team of 4 or more Sales personnel
- Ability to Provide Timely Reports via OfficeSuite software
- Bilingual English/Spanish beneficial
- Ability to Travel Domestically to 20% within areas of California, possibly into Mexico and into the Northeast region
- Ability to Travel Internationally 1-2 times per year for leadership meetings and conventions


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an Established Horticultural Organization seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead an existing team of sales and product development personnel with focus on sales growth generation within an assigned territory. Primary goal will be developing a range of vegetable seed products while managing territory profitability, improving efficiency of distribution channels and enlarging the grower/customer base resulting in increased market share. Responsibilities to include:
- Defining/Supervising action plan and goals for sales team
- Developing/Implementing product development strategy including a sales strategy to gain market share and increase profitability
- Working directly with grower/customer base including key accounts
- Coordinating the development/implementation of trials
- Monitoring business activities for territory
- Budget preparation and control for territory and for sales team
- Proposing an added-value price strategy with peers
- Defining production and forecasts for financials for territory
- Coordinating sales team events including training, field days, sales meetings, trade shows, etc.
- Traveling as necessary

This individual reports directly to a regional Vice President of Sales.
