Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an established Ag Employer with their search for a Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will will be responsible for overseeing day to day accounting and administrative functions. The Assistant Controller will report Division Controller. Other responsibilities include:


Accounts Receivable - Manage invoicing processes and provide troubleshooting for Merchandising Assistants as needed, ensure deposits are posted timely and accurately, monitor feedback loop for application of any unapplied cash, resolve accounting discrepancies with customer accounts, prepare and analyze weekly past due reports, assist in past due collections, assist in approval of credit holds.

Accounts Payable -
Manage payables processes and provide troubleshooting for A/P Specialist as needed. Assist A/P Specialist with voiding checks, applications, and coding of vouchers. Review periodic A/P reports and implement solutions to aged A/P, oversee lien searches and audit farmer payments approvals for lien search methods and accuracy.

Inventory - Manage accounting inventory processes and transactions as they flow through and post to various programs within the scale and accounting programs, prepare reporting for standard shrink and inventory adjustments, review weekly plant inventory reconciliations and approve accounting/plant staff plans to deal with inventory discrepancies, reconcile monthly plant inventories, assist in resolution of any inventory posting errors, full understanding and ability to analyze mark-to-market accounting for inventory, contracts, and derivatives.

General Ledger - Prepare and/or enter manual journal entries as needed, reconcile assigned general ledger accounts, prepare compilation of monthly P&L, review P&L for coding errors and make corrections as needed.

Reporting and Analysis - Assist Division Controller in month end reporting and analysis, prepare existing reports for review, analyze variance in revenue and expenses, reconcile trader estimates to actual P&L results and report finding to internal merchandising staff and General Manager, anticipate reporting needs and suggest ways to capture new data that would be relevant to managing our business, complete periodic reporting to external agencies, assist Division Controller is preparation and presentation of annual budgets.

Supervision - Duties include but not limited to: Manage staff of A/P Specialist, Merchandising Assistants, and Administrative Assistant(s). Provide day to day direction to staff, monitor activities, and ensure the staff members are executing effective and timely work. Assist Division Controller is providing personnel training to new and existing staff members.
