- Experience operating modern farm equipment a must, silage/forage operation would be a big plus
- Solid row crop experience from planting to silage a plus
- Technical knowledge of GPS, auto-steer and precision farming
- Dedicated and willing to work long hours during peak seasons
- Routine maintenance and mechanic ability with an attention to detail a must
- Hard working, team player, strong communicator, self-starter, high morals, good ethics, motivated, and honest
- Willingness to jump in and assist when and where needed is a must
- CDL with a good driving record is a plus


Hansen Agri-Placement is searching for a good Assistant Cropping Manager for this large progressive dairy in southwestern Michigan. This person needs to know planting through silage harvest, have experience with large modern farm machinery and have a technical mindset that is not afraid of change. This position is all farming operations related to dairy feedstuffs and will help oversee maintaining and servicing equipment to keep the dairy running efficiently. They currently farm 4,500 acres and expanding to 7,000 acres. The crops are custom planted, but person will oversee planting is done properly. This person will help oversee all phases of crop production while working in a team environment, work long hours in peak season, must be dedicated, and have common sense. The Assistant Cropping Manager will also help oversee and coordinate application of manure as fertilizer to fields in accordance with the nutrient management plan and application standards. This position operates with manure management and application in the fields utilizing drag line equipment in addition to more traditional application processes. Study and understand the nutrient management plan (NMP), setback regulations, and reporting requirements to maintain compliance with NMP and Federal, State, and local regulations. Work and communicate with nutrient management planner and applicator for nutrient applications, application rates, setback marking, record keeping, and future planning. Mark out all setbacks with GPS and flags prior to nutrient applications, and ensure setbacks are being followed.This is a progressive operation looking for the right person committed to long-term employment, someone to grow with the business.
