- 3-6 years of experience in production Ag
- Ag-related college degree preferred
- Valid Driver's License
- Proficient computer skills - Microsoft Office software, email, internet, spreadsheets
- Good diagnostic and decision making skills
- Experience leading production
- Experience with pre-planting ground work
- Orchard experience is a plus
- Proven ability to effectively communicate – verbal & written skills


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for an Assistant Farm Manager for larger Orchard production operation in the northwest Oregon. This position will assist in the direct responsibility for all production of permanent crops and the development of future farms. May train, or supervise farm workers or contract for services to carry out the day-to-day activities of the orchard health maintenance. Will assist Manager with irrigation scheduling, crop nutrition, cultivating, and harvest timing. Scout crops and identify pests, includes making recommendations on treatment and suggesting products or other methods to control or prevent problems in agronomy. This position will report to the Farm Manager.

The primary responsibility of this candidate will be to:
- Coordinate the daily operations of maintaining healthy productive orchards
- Assist Manager with tracking budgeted plans including: Irrigation, Fertility & Pest Management and Quality Control
- Need Assistant Manager to be a working manager who will work side-by-side with their worker activities, such as ground work, planting, irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, and bee coordination.
- Inspect orchards or fields to determine crop maturity or condition or to detect disease or insect infestation and develop a corrective action plan.
- Monitor activities such as irrigation, chemical application, harvesting to ensure adherence to safety regulations or standards
- Track and report on new regulatory issues
- Communicate with management on orchard health
- Oversee and perform equipment maintenance and repairs as needed
