- 5 years of row crop and forage production experience
- Strong mechanical skills and aptitude
- 3 years of pivot irrigation operation and maintenance
- Supervisory or lead worker experience
- Beef production experience
- Position will require a hands-on working manager
- Solid production management experience required
- Direct and coordinate work activities, such as planting, chemical/fertilizer application, harvesting, record keeping, etc.
- Soil analysis to determine type and quantity of fertilizer required for maximum production
- Inspection of equipment to ensure proper function
- Inspect fields to determine maturity dates of crops or to estimate potential crop damage
- Assist in the purchases of machinery, equipment, and supplies
- Enforce safety regulations and interpret policies
- Make decisions, solve problems, analyze information, and evaluate results
- Organizing, planning, and prioritizing work
- Monitoring and controlling resources and management of material resources
- Develop strategies and recommendations for individual farm assets
- Appraise crop rotation, herbicide, pesticide, and fertilizer
- Implement projects and strategies with due diligence
- Ensure all documentation is securely entered into the appropriate management information and electronic file systems
- Partner with internal and external resources to ensure that all services and projects are timely delivered and completed effectively
- Prioritize and delegate projects and oversee ongoing progress
- Report all farm related revenue and expenses and work closely with the owner and office staff
- Strong communications, team building, integrity, work ethic, multi task, and ability to think outside the box


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Assistant Farm Operations Manager who will be very much hands-on in crop and beef production to oversee day-to-day operations for this north-central Colorado producer. Really prefer 5+ years row crop and forage production and who will help be responsible for personnel, equipment, and will also assist with the purchase of fertilizers, chemicals, and other inputs. A person is responsible for safety policies and practices according to company standards. Providing input in budget formulation, employee evaluations, establishing production standards, ensuring compliance with company policies. The assistant manager will help maintain proper company inventories. Need to know planting through harvest. Farm Operations Team is tasked with the planting, fertilizing, cultivating, irrigating, harvesting, and storage of grain and forage crops on 1850 acres of pivot irrigated farm land. Approximately 4000 acres of native dryland pasture surrounding both locations provide grazing for up to 250 beef cow calf pairs. The Farm Team is also responsible for all management of the beef herd, pastures, and related infrastructure.
