QUALIFICATION:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is required
- College Degree or 5+ years industry experience and working knowledge of the calf raising industry
- 2+ years previous supervisory or management experience
- Excellent communication and leadership skills are required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to perform basic math functions and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Understanding of feed commodities for quality assurance and purchasing
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Feedyard Assistant Operations Manager for this southwestern Kansas Feedlot operation. Candidate will work closely with the Chief Operations Manager to manage and lead activities in order to meet productivity and profitability objectives. • Have a working knowledge to develop, monitor, and be accountable to the ranch operating and capital expense budgets. • Participate and/or head up company-wide improvement projects • Work with Upper Management to ensure that required records are maintained to comply with environmental, safety, and regulatory governance (ISO/HACCP, OSHA, etc.) • Ensure that yard activities are carried out in an efficient manner through personal observations and meetings (formal/informal) with appropriate management and employees. • Ensure that supervisors and teams are fully engaged with performance goals. • Communicate with Chief Operations Manager & Business Manager on current and future capital expenditures, and the development and/or improvement of future and existing feedlot operations and procedures. • Act as backup for any of the department managers. • Maintain positive relationships with company’s customers and outside vendors. • Assist Chief Operations Manager with annual initiatives and strategic plans. • Other duties may be assigned.
