Job Description:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large dairy operation located in New Mexico who is searching for Calf Manager to oversee their calf operation. Areas of responsibility include: Supervising and assuring proper procedures for colostrum management including testing, bottling and feedings. Calves are fed colostrum on their first and second days of life. Will ensure proper bottle washing procedures, tank wash-ups, pasteurization routine, and calf milk prep area are clean and sanitary. Responsible for supervising "fresh milk" feedings of calves that have completed two days of colostrum feedings to assure that calves are properly taught to use individual bottle feeder racks. Also responsible for determining which calves need treatments, medications or special procedures and keeping good records on all calves being treated each day. Consulting on difficult cases will be done daily with herd veterinarians. Calf Manager will be taught special procedures and techniques by herd veterinarians on a case by case basis. Vaccinating, dehoming and banding of occasional bull calves placed in hutches will be required duties. Employer is looking for someone who is a Team Leader with a positive attitude and flexible and willing to jump in and help where needed.
