QUALIFICATIONS:

- BSc Agronomy or other Ag-related degree; MBA a Plus
- Minimum 10 years managing in the food grain industry with a history of profitability.
- A strong history of planning and overseeing the construction capital investments.
- Proven ability to develop and lead a strong Grain Origination and Operations Team for a multiple-location organization
- Must have a strong market knowledge of grain and pulses markets.
- Must have experience dealing with rail lines, rail loaders and transloaders.
- Strong Customer-Service Focus
- Excellent Communication, organizational, strategic planning, time management and decision-making skill set
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite as well as CRM, Accounting and Agronomy-related software packages
- Valid driver license with ability to travel as necessary

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an established Ag Retailer in their search for a CEO for their Canadian Grain business unit. Client organization is seeking a STRONG LEADER to guide/mentor/oversee a solid team of Grain Origination, Marketing and Operations personnel to ensure optimum efficiency and to identify and create profitability situations. The ideal individual will have Proven Leadership Skills with at least 10 years overseeing the profitable operation of a business. Other duties to include:

- Responsible for the profitability of the business unit
- Develop strategic capital improvement plan for approval and oversee execution of approved plans.
- Developing and implementing strategic leadership plans
- Communicating Company policies and safety regulations
- Managing/Coordinating origination, sales and operations activities.
- Responsibility for Risk Management
- Oversight for developing new market share
- Providing detailed reports on a regular basis to Corporate Leadership Team
- Mentoring/Training management personnel
- Making reports and presentations to Corporate Leadership Team
- Driving a culture of collaboration, innovation, measured risk-taking, continuous improvement and, most importantly, respect
