QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics or degree with Certificate in Accounting
- CPA designation
- Production agriculture or food processing experience
- Experience in strategic planning and execution
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections to create actionable information for managers
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
- Ten years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position
- Real time observation of agricultural and processing conditions requires full time on site work
- Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Chief Financial Officer for this large, progressive and vertically integrated operation located in Oregon. The CFO will be responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations. Provide leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting, financing and budgeting for the company.
  • Coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the company to include budgeting and tax planning
  • Direct the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee accounting department, company budget preparation, and company audit functions. Meets regularly with department heads to keep informed and to offer direction.
  • Review reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals, and suggests methods of improving the planning process as appropriate.
  • Analyzes company operations to pinpoint opportunities and provide guidance to operations managers.
  • Evaluates project studies company managers prepare for future capital expenditure for growth in overall sales, market share, cost reduction or reduction in environmental footprint. Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, and position control documents, department budgets, mass salary updates, ledger, and account maintenance and data entry.
  • Keep finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures up to date and in compliance with governmental agencies, financial and food safety auditors.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.
  • Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyzes, reports, and recommendations.
  • Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted financial and auditing standards.
  • Assist in obtaining the necessary licenses and insurance for our organization.
  • Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business managers.
  • Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range accounting and financial goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Serve on planning and policymaking committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
