- Advanced degree in horticulture, organic agriculture, or equivalent preferred, but also will consider extensive experience
- Extensive Vegetable Farm experience utilizing both open fields and green house starts and growing, and/or CSA farm experience is a preferred choice, but will consider someone with fruit orchard, vineyards of berries and grapes experience
- Previous management and supervisory experience required. One to thrive in faced paced atmosphere, multitask, and working with people is needed
- Self-motivated, good communication skills with other team members, ownership, and customers
- Knowledge of, or willingness to advance, continue to learn, and always looking for improvements
- Must be highly organized with attention to detail through planning, planting, growing, and harvest


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a working CSA Crop Manager for a Massachusetts Farm operation which is 5th generation diversified New England farm specializing in fruit and vegetable production. Crops will consist of a variety of fruit, berries, vegetables, and some greenhouse crops as well. Individual will oversee all aspects of planning and maintenance in concert with sustainable agricultural practices. This position requires someone with significant agricultural experience and knowledge of small-scale farming as well as a desire to grow farm production as well as any orchard experience is a plus. Person will be responsible for all aspects of crop production: such as, but not limited to managing the fields, tractor work, and maintenance on site also has a retail presence and one will assist in overseeing and also maintaining current farm share/CSA which has long standing of operating in the area. This position is a full-time, year-round position from planning, ordering seeds, applying amendments to the soil in timely manner in conjunction with the crop plan. Hours will vary in and out of season as one oversees annual crop plans consistent with farming methods, including cultivars, quantities, timing, rotation, cover crops, and use of growing structures from greenhouse to outdoor traditional planting. One will need to maintain detailed record keeping while following garden map including crop rotation, transplant schedule, and yields so that the information can be used to make improvements for the next season. One will need to develop and monitor irrigation systems and hand-water as needed and create a schedule to manage watering for greenhouses and all other plants around the farm. The area is a great place to raise a family while living in the country, having access to many avenues of American history, sporting events, and other entertainment a short distance away. Pay will be determined by experience, stability, and references.
