- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required, preference given to those with a degree in an agriculturally related field and/or international relations, marketing, business or economics.
- Experience with and knowledge of the U.S. ethanol industry is required.
- Experience working with stakeholders in ethanal industry as well as government agencies a plus.
- At least five years supervisory experience combined with international market development and work in a multi-cultural environment is preferred.
- Ideal candidate will be detail oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.


- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Office required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner at all times.
- Strong interpersonal communications and team building experience.

Job Description:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an International market development organization in seeking a Director of Global Ethanol Market Development position. The Director of Global Ethanol Market Development is responsible for providing direction to and management of worldwide ethanol strategy and marketing plan activities. This position will oversee the execution, implementation and post evaluation of ethanol activities and projects that are carried out globally.


- Oversee all global ethanol programs including program strategy, planning, implementation and evaluation; USDA/Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) budget compliance; personnel; administration and communications.
- Provide strategic direction to all Overseas staff and consultants related to ethanol market development programs and strategies.
- Coordinate with counterparts who oversee global office operations to oversee strategic development and monitoring of the Unified Export Strategy.
- Ensure proper and efficient implementation of the activities and projects and compliance with applicable organizational and government rules and regulations.
- Supervise Ethanol Market Development team in Washington D.C. consisting of the Manger of Ethanol Market Development, Manager of Ethanol Export Programs, Manager of Ethanol Trade Policy and the Ethanol Programs Coordinator.
- Ensure effective communication between the global offices, as well as with key stakeholders including but not limited to the Council membership, Ethanol Advisory Team, Ethanol Steering Committee and USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service.
- Ensure program and policy coordination.
- Manage departmental budget.
- Carry out membership committee and task force assignments.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
