- Must be a proficient heavy equipment mechanic and have at least 5-year experience with combines, swathers, tractors, etc. is a must
- Ability to manage day to day task of shop, people, and equipment in timely manner
- Strong communications skills with both leadership, and employees in working as a team
- Welding and Fabrications skills are a plus. Ability to understand and have knowledge of machines, tools, and their design, uses, and maintenance
- Ability to work on everything from electrical, wiring, brakes, clutch, hydraulic repair, ac repair, and engine repair is a plus


Hansen Agri Placement is assisting to find a head mechanic and farm foreman for a Family farm operation in western Oregon. They also raise several other rotational crops for seed consisting of clover, meadowfoam, coriander, turnips and ryegrass. Said person will act as the farm manager in owner's absence and will assist owner with financial budgeting and reconciling for operations as needed. Duties will include managing the day to day tasks of the shop assistant(s), while communicating regularly and effectively with employees and also upper leadership. One will perform routine maintenance on farm equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed and schedule flow through the shop during off season. Will need to weld and fabricate as needed in addition to having the knowledge of machines and tools we have in the shop. Need someone that has the ability to maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles which may include dismantling said defective machines for repair, using hand tools and have the ability to put it back together. Record details of said repairs made and parts used. Additional skills needed would be ability to test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Including more advanced skills of working on brakes, clutch, hydraulic repair, ac repair, electrical, major and minor engine, etc. would be a big plus. Location is in a beautiful agricultural area of western Oregon, good private/public schools, good road, and not far from larger population centers for shopping, college, entertainment and such. Looking for long term employee and the salary will depend upon your experience, stability, and reference provided.
