QUALIFICATIONS:

- Position will require a hands-on crop production approach
- Solid production management experience
- Experience coordinating/leading Precision Ag initiatives
- Assist with the coordination & perform hands-on work activities, such as planting, chemical/fertilizer application, harvesting, record keeping, etc.
- It would be optimal if they have a spray license, and experience spraying row crops.
- Soil analysis to determine type and quantity of fertilizer required for maximum production
- Inspection of equipment to ensure proper function
- Inspect fields to determine maturity dates of crops or to estimate potential crop damage
- Enforce safety regulations and interpret policies
- Make decisions, solve problems, analyze information, and evaluate results
- Able to organize, plan, and prioritize work
- Monitoring and controlling resources and management of material resources
- Facilitate communication with management and employees
- Implement projects and strategies with due diligence
- Prioritize and delegate projects and oversee ongoing progress
- Adhere to internal policies and procedures
- Perform administrative duties as necessary

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a hands-on Farm Manager In Training for this crop production operation in western New York. Manager In Training will assist in crop production, equipment operations and equipment maintenance related to the farm. Really prefer 6 years in a lead position on a larger-scale farming operation. This person will be responsible for equipment, fertilizers, chemicals and other related inputs. Person is responsible for implementing safety policies and practices according to company standards. The person in this position will provide input in budget formulation, employee evaluations, establishing production standards, and insuring compliance with company policies. Manager In-Training will be responsible for maintaining proper company inventories. Candidates need to know precision equipment, and have strong crop production experience; planting through harvest. Really prefer candidates who have been in a similar position or who have work for a larger scale crop farm in a lead capacity. Knowledge of modern row crop farming, including GPS is required. Manager In-Training needs to be a team player and have the ability to motivate to get the best out of their team. Need to know routine maintenance and equipment repairs. Manager needs to be a good communicator and well organized. This is a progressive operation in a nice location.
