- BS degree in horticulture, organic agriculture, or equivalent plus experience preferred
- Extensive Organic Farm experience is a preferred with preference to working with any type of root crops
- Previous management and supervisory experience required, Also need strong mechanical experience in trouble shooting, repair, and setting equipment for efficiency
- Need to be Self-motivated having good communication skills with staff and ownership
- Willingness to be a hands on working with, continuous training of self and staff, and self improvement of all
- Must be highly organized with attention to detail in coordination of crop and labor schedules. Experience in Food Safety certifications would be a big plus
- Willing to assist as and work alongside of current employees, and in tune with management of pests, irrigation, fertilizing, and harvest which includes grading and packaging


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for an Organic Farm Manager of this Hawaiian farming operation. The position will be to maximize the quality and diversified output of the organic farm in growing Ginger, Turmeric, and Galangal. One will need to carry out supervision of the staff, and ongoing communication with staff, but also with home office and ownership. Primary duties will include responsibility for certified organic root crops and keeping in compliance with USDA organic mandates. Majority of the work will be dealing with bed preparation. planting, weed control, pest control, irrigation, cover crops, rotation, harvesting in a sustainable, progressive, and certified organic fashion while keeping the Organic Farm profitable. Will also need outstanding written and oral communication skills required to convey information, gather and disseminate information, and problem solve and work through any emergencies and seasonal demands. Administrative duties will include basic accounting receivables/payables, employee records, human resources, training, timekeeping, and supervision of all farm workers full time and seasonal as well at the farm. Will oversee all maintenance in maintaining not only vehicles, equipment, machinery, and also maintain and manage main residence, orchards, and all structures including roads, fencing, and any new construction on the property. Work with and ensuring compliance with all governmental agencies/health and safety standards / regulations including Organic Certification, Agricultural Dedication, and CC&Rs. E.O.E will be paid on base salary with potential bonus on performance and harvest volume/quality. Employer is looking for solid experience, stability, and references.
