QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years working in a lead position on larger farming operation
- Position will require a hands-on working manager
- Management and supervisory experience required to effectively lead, plan, organize and direct a team
- Strong grain agricultural background/knowledge helpful
- Solid production management experience required
- Direct and coordinate work activities, such as planting, chemical/fertilizer application, harvesting, record keeping, etc.
- Soil analysis to determine type and quantity of fertilizer required for maximum production
- Inspection of equipment to ensure proper function
- Inspect fields to determine maturity dates of crops or to estimate potential crop damage
- Enforce safety regulations and interpret policies
- Make decisions, solve problems, analyze information, and evaluate results
- Organizing, planning, and prioritizing work
- Monitoring and controlling resources and management of material resources
- Appraise crop rotation, herbicide, pesticide, and fertilizer
- Implement projects and strategies with due diligence
- Ensure all documentation is securely entered into the appropriate management information and electronic file systems
- Partner with internal and external resources to ensure that all services and projects are timely delivered and completed effectively
- Prioritize and delegate projects and oversee ongoing progress
- Strong communications, team building, integrity, work ethic, multi task, and ability to think outside the box
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Farm Operations Manager who will be very much hands-on in crop production to oversee day-to-day operations for this Western Nebraska Producer. The Operations Manager will ensure the production of high volume, high quality, and cost-effective crop production. In addition, this position is to guarantee that all operations/production goals and tasks are completed efficiently and with the effective use of all resources and supplies. This position is responsible for all day-to-day operations, budget items, certifications, safety, production data and operations planning. Person will participate in strategic planning process, as needed. Will train and evaluate all employees and oversee improvement plans, performance review and goals with consultation of Management. Will manage the scheduling, monitoring and implementation of all related farm operation tasks that employees are responsible for by outlining any top priorities for a variety of tasks that are vital to grain production and overall maintenance and upkeep of the farm property and land on a daily basis and weekly meetings. Ensure all control systems are in place and implemented to reduce risk and costs. Monitor inventories regularly and produce all inventory reports on time. Define, update, and implement all operations of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Manage all inventories including but not limited to levels of all products and grain in storage, all seed, chemical, fertilizer and input supplies, etc. Excellent opportunity for Top-Notch person!!!
