- BS degree that is Ag Related.
- 3-6 years of experience in orchard, permanent crop related field, or tree farming experience is a preferred.
- A passion for Agriculture and management experience in production agriculture is a must.
- Bilingual - Spanish; Along with superb communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to effectively communicate with both verbal & written skills.
- Ability to make decisions in stressful environments.
- Proficient computer skills - Microsoft Office software, email, internet, spreadsheets.
- Good diagnostic and decision-making skills in addition to excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Experience leading production and administrative crew.
- Valid Driver's License.


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Farm Operations Manager for a large well established Orchard operation in south central New Mexico. This position will be directly responsible for all the daily agronomics of approximately 3,200 acres of permanent crops and the development of future acres. May hire, train, or supervise farm workers or contract for services to carry out the day-to-day activities of the orchard health maintenance. Supervise and review irrigation scheduling, crop nutrition, cultivating, harvest timing and pruning. Scout crops and identify pests, includes making recommendations on treatment and suggesting products or other methods to control or prevent problems. This position will report to the Director of Operations. Current Manager has been with company for over 40 years. He will stay on and train new Manager.

The primary responsibility of the Farm Operations Manager will be to:

• Analyzing existing operations, crops, staff, and financial documents and recommending improvements.
• Preparing plans and schedules for planting, harvesting, pruning and ensuring staff understand expectations.
• Visiting the different divisions to inspect crops, and perform tests on soil, leaves and water.
• Ensuring fertilizers, pesticides and other supplies are regularly restocked.
• Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery.
• Ensuring all staff adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Assisting with the recruitment and training of staff members.
• Collaborating with senior staff to prepare budgets and financial reports.
• Building professional networks and staying updated of developments in agricultural science.
Overtime will be required as with any farm job.
