- Position will require a lead-type person/self-starter
- Experience working for Absentee Owner is a plus
- Solid crop production experience required
- Lead in work activities, such as planting, spraying, harvesting, record keeping, etc.
- Willing to work long days during peak times (Planting and Harvest)
- Inspection of equipment to ensure proper function
- Help to inspect fields to determine maturity dates of crops or to estimate potential crop damage
- Assist in the purchase of supplies and parts
- Enforce safety regulations and policies
- Able to make decisions, solve problems, analyze information, and evaluate results
- Organizing, planning, and prioritizing work
- Good communications skills needed as owner is not on-site
- Help prioritize and delegate projects and oversee ongoing progress
- Adhere to internal policies and procedures
- Long term, career oriented, self-starter with strong work ethic and desire to succeed
- Need person who has good cattle handling experience, prefer experience around Stockers/Yearlings
- Good animal health skills


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Farm Manager for this southeastern Texas farm and cattle producer. Corn, soybeans,and cotton in rotation on non-irrigated ground. The owner is absentee and need to find person capable of running farm without supervision. This is a newly acquired and will need person to start January 1st. The farm employs one working manager, 1 full time employee and seasonal employees as needed. Annual operations entail ground preparation/tillage, planting, spray applications, harvest, grain storage, equipment maintenance and repair, facility maintenance, grain hauling, land improvements such as brush clearing, and land leveling. The farm will maintain it's own equipment to conduct all farm-related tasks. Extended hours and days during planting, harvest, and other critical periods. Prepare and assign daily tasks to subordinates. Oversee maintenance and basic repair to ag production equipment, buildings, grain handling equipment, and other facilities. Schedule advanced repair to equipment and facilities with qualified personnel. Plan and conduct training for subordinates on key ag production skills such as application and harvest equipment. Collaborate with owner to develop seasonal crop plan and plan for major purchases. Collaborate with owner to improve operational efficiency. Responsible for planting and harvest operations, including troubleshooting and repairing field equipment. Maintain grain quality while in storage and oversee delivery of grain contracts. Maintain records as required by law. Assist with personnel reviews and improve personnel skill sets through training and experience.
