- Prefer College Degree with 5+ years of experience in a cattle feeding & grain milling environment
- Animal husbandry skills, knowledge of cattle breeds and characteristics
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Strong MS Office experience and proficiency; cattle accounting system experience preferred
- Solid understanding of OSHA/HACCP guidelines
- Excellent communication and leadership skills are required
- Valid driver license
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Feed & Mill Manager for this northeast Colorado Feedlot operations. This person will manage the Feed Department to maximize cattle performance, feed efficiencies, and profitability, through successfully directing and coordinating activities of employees who are engaged in the daily feeding of livestock, repair, maintenance, and daily operations of a feed mill and feed delivery.

- Manage, lead, and develop all feed & mill employees.
- Interviews and train new employees through training, then plans, assigns, directs work.
- Directs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Works closely with consultants to optimize cattle performance and health.
- Monitors feed intakes, bunk conditions, cattle behavior to feed presentation and schedules ration step-up programs; coordinates feeding schedule with the cattle department.
- Reviews daily agenda for pen ships, moves, and transfers.
- Communicates yard and mill issues and updates to appropriate personnel.
- Project capital expenditures for feeding & mills departments; prepares and maintains the annual feed & mill department budgets; manage expenses.
- Performs quality control procedures on all incoming feed ingredients; oversees feed mixing, distribution, and maximum consumptions.
- Maintain adequate inventory of commodities.
- Ensure compliance with all FDA regulations regarding medicated feed and micro ingredients.
- Develop and maintain emergency backup procedures for occurrences of mill outages.
- Maintains all necessary and pertinent production records.
- Prepare and follow the preventative maintenance schedule for the feeding & milling department.
- Ensure housekeeping is maintained in mill & feed pickups, trucks, and office areas.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA/Safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
- Other duties may be assigned.
