- 10-15 years in industry
- Prefer 5-10 years in management position or lead position
- Feedyard Operations experience required
- Excellent animal health skills
- Team player/motivator
- Needs an outstanding person with substantial management experience
- Business management/budgeting experience highly preferred
- Oversee all logistics of incoming and outgoing cattle
- Source all hay purchases
- Manage all personnel
- Keep up with all of the Natural guidelines, protocols, trainings, audits, etc.
- Process and treat all animals
- Assist in feeding during the week and alternating in the weekend feeding schedule
- AI services
- Scheduling veterinarians and assisting in bull gain tests and fertility/trich testing
- Preg checking
- Manage all equipment purchases, trades, maintenance and sales
- Feeding
- Bunk management
- Customer service and relations
- Supervise cattle movements and processing
- Pre-purchase evaluations of potential cattle for feedlot
- Order and pickup necessary parts for the feedlot equipment
- Inventory on all commodities for scheduling
- Inventory and order all vaccines, antibiotics, and other pharmaceuticals as needed
- Manage all new projects in the feedlot (i.e. get bids, scheduling, meeting with contractors, etc.)
- Contact packers for kill schedule and delivery dates
- Accu-Trac
- Read bunks in the morning daily
- Call feed
- Schedule loads
- Micro room inventories
- Problem troubleshooting and maintenance
- Entering shipments


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a proven Feedlot Operations Manager for this west Texas cattle operation. Manager will have the responsibility of an 8,000 hd cattle finishing facility. This is a WORKING MANAGEMENT POSITION. Manager will have direct livestock logistics and health duties. Needs to be self-motivated and able to motivate others. Practical experience with cattle nutrition, equipment, asset management, property maintenance and management are required. Manager shall oversee maintenance of corrals, sheds, fences, trucks, equipment and build/implement new improvements. Financial skills needed in managing resources on a set budget. Manager will lead and direct employees in daily operations and lead by example when necessary. Manager will manage a team of 5-6 and be responsible for bi-annual performance view of managed employees. Ownership lives 7 hours away and manages the business using technology and remote tools. An aptitude towards technology is a bonus. Entire Feedyard System is automated using the Accu-Trac system. Manager will meet with ownership as often as necessary to review progress on goals, actuals vs. budget, etc. Looking for someone who is innovative and progressive minded with an old school work ethic.

***Willing to hire a couple if the wife has office management background and skills. She would be paid an additional income for her work. Wouldn't have to hire couple but, if wife is interested and capable, they might be agreeable to hiring manager's spouse.
