GENERAL OPERATIONS MANAGER
We are looking for an experienced irrigation water delivery coordinator for a long-established organization located in the Arkansas Valley in Southeastern Colorado. EMPLOYER WILL ALSO CONSIDER A HIGHLY-MOTIVATED AG OR FORMER MILITARY INDIVIDUAL WITH MINIMAL EXPERIENCE IN WATER MANAGEMENT.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Coordinating irrigation deliveries
- Monitoring administration of the river and communicating with water officials on diversions, reservoir deliveries and calls
- Directing repairs/maintenance for company infrastructure/facilities
- Maintaining appropriate insurance and managing risk to protect against damages/loss
- Supports strategic planning process of company, develops recommendations for operational plans, developing/following budgets and policies.
- Working closely with Board of Directors, stockholders and staff on adoption/implementation of plans, budgets and policies.
- Overseeing staff of 18 including hiring, firing and training
- Procurement of supplies, fuel and equipment
- Role reports directly to Board of Directors

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-year Ag- or Engineering-related degree preferred
- 3 or more years water distribution/water operations experience preferred but not required
- Proven ability to read, interpret and follow engineering plans/specifications and mechanically apt
- Minimum 3 years supervisory/management experience with proven ability to plan, coordinate, assign, prioritize, delegate, lead, train and evaluate personnel
- Previous experience developing/overseeing an annual budget as well as company records and comprehensive reports
- Solid communication skills with ability to tactfully and courteously interact with stockholders, employees, government officials and service providers
- Computer proficient and technology aware
- Ability to perform physical labor, including working outdoors in all weather, lifting 50#, bending, squatting, and walking several miles
