MUST HAVE CURRENT DAIRY EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION

- Bachelor Degree in Animal Science preferred with 5 or more years experience
- Large dairy manager experience

- Registered cow experience a plus
- Leadership / motivational skills
- Supervising experience
- Herd health
- Reproduction / genetic selection experience

- Inventory / supply experience
- Team player
- Ability to speak Spanish a plus
- Computer skills



Job Description:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large dairy operation located in Michigan who is searching for an experienced, hands-on Herd Manager to oversee the day to day operation of the dairy. This position is responsible for overseeing 4 to 5 Department Managers to ensure all tasks and chores are completed correctly and in a timely manner. Will be in charge of breeding, health monitoring, genetic selection and youngstock rearing of the dairy herd. Employer is looking for candidate who is hands-on and a flexible team player

Must be willing to step in and help wherever needed. Must also have the ability to develop and initiate new and revised protocols pertaining to the dairy. Will work with veterinarian and nutritionist and attend Team Meetings with Management. Also responsible for Inventory and working with computer software programs related to the dairy.
