- Agronomy or Ag Science Degree Preferred
- Outstanding MS suite skills (focus on Excel)
- Ability to understand new concepts and learn quickly
- Ability to manage several/various projects at a time
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
- Willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel and stay overnight when needed
- Abile to build and follow and detailed schedule
- Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work alone and in groups

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a Crop Scout for an Ag Company in the Panhandle of Texas. This person will establish and implement sound Ag principles to facility the company's ability to continue leading the way in forage quality. To provide clients with valuable feedback about their crops so they can make timely, informed and economical field crop decision. This is a very active position where you will be completing documentation, scouting fields and assisting in the collection of information. Position will analyze a variety of crops including wheat, triticale, alfalfa, corn, sorghum and cotton. This person will provide comprehensive reports on weeds, pests, disease, etc. Provide yield estimate analysis throughout the growing season. Evaluate forage samples through lab results and the presentation of solutions on how to improve quality and yields. Trends record book and periodic reports to management about those trends. Develop, document, and analyze key metrics for silage and haylage piles, bags and pits and provide recommendations on continuous improvement. This is a very active role where you will be completing documentation, scouting fields and assisting with the collection of information. Responsibilities will include:

- Participate in year-round crop and feed-related evaluations
- Walk fields often in all weather conditions
- Diagnose and assess weed, pest and disease infestations in the fields
- Conduct root digs in order to look for corn rootworm or other root eating pests
- Use knowledge of growth stages in various crops to provide estimates of expected yields
- Learn, understand and communicate forage quality – fresh cut and fermented
- Understand, communicate and make recommendations related to processing scores, dry matter, packing densities, chop length and kernel processing
- Evaluate lab data related to fresh cut and fermented forage samples
- Record crop, soil, weed trends and weather
- Make recommendations based on your findings
- Remain up to date on latest chemistry and technologies (ex. drones, apps, monitoring devices)
