- Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years minimum sales experience in relevant field (i.e., animal science, agri-business)
- Recent swine industry experience required
- Experience in developing sales plans, comfortable speaking profit & loss, and developing sales forecasts
- Complex solution or consultative selling experience preferred
- Experience managing a geographical dispersed customer base
- Ability to function well in a collaborative environment


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a
Key Account Manager for a progressive swine genetics company who creates, manages and grows the relationships and business with large, complex accounts in the US and Canada. Accountable for the sales relationship, growth, profitability, and resource integration within each targeted account. Provide expertise in the area of swine production and positively engages in that communication to move the company forward, all while being an advocate for this company, its policies, and procedures.

Business Development
- Increase market share by targeting new customers and develops long-term and profitable relationships.
- Interacts and influences at the highest management levels of the customers.
- Develops customer acquisition and account growth strategies and leads them through execution.
- Accountable for profit margin for both Company and the customer as it relates to genetic product transactions.
- Builds a specific marketing and communication plan for the key account segment within the framework of it's Global and US marketing and communication plans.
- Builds a budget and provides regular cash and sales forecast.
- Familiarizes with the company’s vision and mission, seeking to accomplish set goals and objectives.
- Negotiate, maintain, and renew customer contracts.

Relationship Management
- Act as the customer’s representative and primary customer contact to Company. Coordinate Company resources for the customer to increase the customer experience.
- Understand all features and capabilities of Company products and services and be able to communicate them to the customer.
- Uses internal resources and operational support to accelerate growth and profitability for targeted accounts.
- Continuously cultivates meaningful relationships with clients and internal departments through frequent discussion and interaction.
- Takes ownership of cash collection process for each key account.

- Comprehensive understanding of the swine industry and associated economics.
- Understanding of customers’ business environment and challenges to leverage offerings for profitable relationships.
- Practical knowledge of swine genetics preferred.

Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to establish a rapport and develop long-term relationships with prospective clients.
- High-proficiency negotiation skills to construct contracts that mitigate risk and foster “win-win” relationships with customers.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to collaborate with field sales, technical services, and other cross-functional partners to solve problems and deliver profitable solutions to customers.
