QUALIFICATIONS:

- BSc. Plant Science, Horticulture, Sustainable Horticultural or Agronomy-related degree

- Minimum 2 years experience as a Plant Scientist working with Berry Crops, perhaps someone coming out of BerryWorld Group, Driscoll's, Gem Pack, Nourse Farms or similar soft-fruit operation
- 5 or more years of Berry Production experience ideal
- Controlled Environment/Vertical Growing experience preferred
- Experience managing other R&D personnel strongly preferred
- Desire to Produce/Represent a "Best in Class" Product already loved by World-Renowned Chefs
- Entrepreneurial / Mission-Driven mindset
- Desire to work/reside in a Dynamic Area of the Country, the Greater New York City area

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an Early-Stage Soft-Fruit Ag Organization in finding an experienced Plant Scientist for their “Best in Class” berry growing operation. Ideal individual will have at least 2 years of experience managing the R&D of a similar grow operation; preferably, a vertical, closed environment grow operation. Primary responsibilities to include:


- Developing/Implementing/Managing R&D initiatives including yield improvement and new crop development

- Managing all aspects of plant health, berry production and disease prevention
- Designing/Implementing efficient work flow for growers
- Assisting in the Planning/Development of new vertical farming operations
- Providing Oversight/Guidance to Agricultural Science recruiting efforts
- Collaborating with Advisors/3rd Parties in order to adopt existing/new technologies for both berry production and future R&
