- Would like to find person who is industrious and innovative, who can bring new ideas and different ways to generate revenue and grow into managing the entire operation
- 5+ years of experience in a cow/calf operation and preferably with purebred herd
- Self-starter, highly motivated with ability to complete a project as well as start one
- Desire to learn and improve process of the operation in addition to accurate cattle records being kept
- Ability to work long hours and be flexible, especially during calving season and other peak times of the year
- Knowledge of farm equipment maintenance and repair of equipment are needed
- A valid driver's license is a must
- Ability to operate different types of equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Good working with hands-on owner
- Enjoys and is good at dealing with urban retail customers


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a purebred herdsman for this northwestern Oregon producer. Seeking someone who will help manage the day-to-day ranch operation; calving, tagging newborn calves, record keeping, castration, de-worming, vaccination programs, as well as development of heifers and slaughter animals. A person should have good knowledge of ranch equipment maintenance. Prefer an eye for detail while having good communication skills, personnel skills, and analytical skills and one who has a desire to learn, to show leadership, and know completion of task at hand. Need good personality for the families that visit the ranch and for the urban retail customers who are the core of the ranch's customer base. Ranch background is needed, but all-around skills will prevail. Desired skills and attributes will also include ability to herd cattle on horseback, familiarity with and ability to operate the ranch machinery; ability to communicate well with the owner; attention to detail, high standards in work quality. Other responsibilities include keeping all the farms neat and tidy at all times. Spouse can assist. Need to have a good attitude, honest, dependable, and self-motivated. Great location that is quiet to enjoy nature, all four seasons, and abundant wildlife, yet close enough to the city for shopping and supplies. Salary will be determined by experience, skill set, stability, and references.
