- Willingness to think out of the box and try new techniques or processes if something could be working better
- Strong animal health skills in identification as well as treatment protocols
- Ability to construct grazing cells with poly wire & coordinate water availability prior to rotation of grazing cells
- Ability to maintain and communicate inventory and need for fencing supplies as needed. Along with all ranch equipment records of inventory and maintenance/repair work as needed
- Must have strong communication with management skills, ability to work alone, but also work as a team
- Looking for someone that is resourcefulness, has initiative, being curious in nature, accountability, and strong enthusiasm for attaining ranches ecological and economic goals
- Maintaining and building customer relations as you represent the ranch in the local community and trade organizations


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Ranch Herdsman for a western Wyoming ranch that has a rich history and is well known in the community. Said person will need to identify and doctor sickness in grazing cell herds, record dates, symptoms, and drugs used (as needed). One will strategically place salt and minerals to facilitate optimum grazing. Monitor daily pasture conditions and update manager of said changes. Herdsman will also assist in checking cattle on FS and BLM permits as needed while ensuring corresponding grazing regulations are followed. Assist with working with and processing of cattle upon receiving, moving, and shipping of cattle as needed. The ranch has a rich history and currently, the owners are investing in infrastructure improvements from fencing, irrigation, corrals, stock water, buildings, as well as machinery. The ranch is E.O.E and will pay a competitive salary that will commensurate with experience, references, and stability in your work history.
