- Ag Related BS degree preferred
- Prefer 8-10 years ranch management experience
- Must have experience working with government agencies
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Experience in team development and supervision
- Able to lead people and prioritize tasks
- Good computer skills, proficiency is a must
- Basic knowledge of and interest in cattle marketing and risk management
- Able to distinguish tactics and strategies and balance them
- Significant professional experience and accomplishment in ranch project management
- Basic knowledge of project budgeting and accounting
- Knowledge of or ability to learn evolving best practices, relating to livestock and rural land management
- Knowledge of and experience with livestock and irrigated pasture management
- Must handle cattle in a quiet manner


Hansen Agri-Placement is searching for a Top Notch Ranch Manager for this beautiful and scenic working ranch in northwestern Wyoming. This will include being frank with the board about budgets, personnel and family relationships.

Position Overview
- Responsible for goal setting, planning, implementation, financial management and reputation of a sustainable diversified ranching business

- Reports to a 6-person Ranch Board
- May work in concert with the General Manager of this company, which, with other entities, owns and leases the underlying family land to the Ranch business

Basic Job Functions
- Propose annual operating plan and budget, based on an overall approved strategic plan, and report quarterly on progress to the board

- Protect and improve land resource health and productivity, emphasizing cost control, optimum production and market opportunity
- Improve the quality and value of our products to optimize sustainability
- Provide employee leadership, support and training to build a team that can accomplish operating goals
- Maintain and improve capital improvements
- Represent the Ranch to local businesses and neighbors
- Work with the (family) chair to enhance family understanding and enjoyment of the ranch operation
- Maintain meaningful and appropriate financial, production and other operation records
- Work with the Land Manager, where necessary, to resolve issues that involve landowner/lessor responsibility (e.g. perimeter fencing)
- Maintain a positive reputation in the community
