QUALIFICATIONS:

- Strong cow background in Nutrition, Animal Health, Low-Stress Handling & Management-Intensive Grazing
- Bachelors degree in Animal Science or Range Science preferred but not required
- 2-3 years supervising crew currently with 5+ years of experience preferred
- Need to be a good decision-maker, communicator, team player, and good record keeper is essential
- Assist owners with budget planning and working with in the budget on an annual basis

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a good Ranch Manager for a central South Dakota ranch. The person needs to be a leader and one who knows cows and calves. This is a progressive operation searching for long-term talent. Strong ability with animal health, nutrition, low-stress handling, and management-intensive grazing, is a must. Will assist in yearly budget planning, be responsible for inventories of livestock, forage, and employee/personnel management. Require good knowledge of hay production and equipment maintenance and repair. Degree in Animal Science or related preferred, but will certainly consider a person with “School of Hard Knocks” & a wealth or experience. Need to have the philosophy of Bud Williams or related too. This person will oversee & manage both the registered and backgrounding operations of the Ranch. Great place to raise a family, recreational options in the area, access to options of school districts, and located about 3 hours from Sioux Falls, but several smaller trade centers available in the area for daily supplies and groceries.
