- Minimum 5 years hands on livestock management experience required

- Develop and manage annual ranch budget
- Ability to manage and complete diverse tasks independently with respect to timelines and budgets
- Bison handling along with Bison Herd Health while maintaining and improving Individual Bison Identification System (I.B.I.S.)

- Experience with overseeing the health of livestock including all aspects of animal husbandry
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science preferred, but will consider production agriculture, range management or similar. Experience counts also.

- Additional training desirable in low stress livestock handling, holistic resource management, ranching for profit, range land monitoring and employee management
- Knowledge of current trends and practices in land management including planned grazing, noxious weed management, water rights, easements, and fire mitigation
- Handle routine maintenance and general repair and have valid drivers license and experience operating varies types of machinery
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities including excellent writing and computer skills, including Excel
- The Ranch Operations Manager is a full-time, year round, exempt position


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting a south central Canadian employer searching for a solid Ranch Operations Manager. This Manager will oversee a large-scale integrated bison feed and grow facility with up to 2500 animals. You will need to work well independently, as a member of a high functioning team and developing effective working relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds while having strong organizational abilities, time management skills, people skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. K-5 school is only 6 miles away from Ranch headquarters, and the local high school 22 miles away. Starting salary is commensurate with experience.
