- Masters degree plus 5 years of Agronomy sales or sales support experience OR Bachelors degree plus 8 years of Agronomy Sales or sales support experience
- Experience developing and implementing research protocols, including experimental design experience, for the purpose of supporting new product development
- Good knowledge of current precision Ag practices
- Demonstrated desire to train/mentor a team of Field Agronomists to achieve personal growth as well as sales growth
- Ability to engage in sales calls to Ag growers while supporting Field Agronomists
- Ability to assist Field Agronomists with precision Ag sales and service to Ag growers
- Solid communication skills including verbal, written, interpersonal, listening and negotiation skills
- Currently residing and working in Iowa directly with Ag growers and/or Agronomy salespeople; perhaps an Agronomy Sales Manager; perhaps an Agronomy Location Manager; perhaps a Senior-Level Sales Agronomist

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a Lead Sales Support individual for a progressive Ag retailer working in the Agronomy / Precision Ag market space in Iowa. Ideal individual will have the ability to:
- Support Field Agronomists in maintaining established Ag grower relationships to grow market share in the region
- Provide technical Agronomy support to Field Agronomists on their key Ag grower sales calls
- Develop and provide technical sales support materials to the organization
- Achieve targeted sales, revenue and market share goals within the state
- Plan research plots at Ag grower operations to provide demonstrated improved crop management strategies and tools
- Act as direct liaison between the Field Agronomist team and company data analysis teams to help guid the vision and development of new Ag digital tools

Additionally, this individual will also have the ability to:
- Effectively communicate products and agronomic knowledge to the Field Agronomists so that they can convey this information to their Ag growers
- Guide Field Agronomists in key decision-making by supporting their crop scouting activities
- Stay updated on current seed, crop protection and fertility information to keep Field Agronomist team educated and relevant to their Ag growers
- Guide/mentor Field Agronomists on current precision Ag innovations so that Field Agronomists can make sound decisions regarding their Ag growers' crop plans, crop rotations and position of crop inputs
- Analyze Ag grower data to provide sound conclusions from grower year
- Educate/Review with Field Agronomists all crop inputs prescriptions providing sound rationale for each product prescribed
- Hire/train/oversee summer intern program within state

With regard to research, this individual will:
- Be instrumental in planning the protocol development for projects that will influence Ag grower knowledge or products and/or concepts of company
- Work closely with research team to identify key projects for the state of Iowa and assist with execution of these key projects
- Seek out opportunities for collaborated field research projects that will support new product development

This individual will also enjoy assisting the organization in outsourcing agronomic services to independent Ag retail organizations. This will involve prospecting, negotiating costs for services and guidance.
