QUALIFICATIONS:
- Agronomy or other Ag-related degree preferred
- Good knowledge of general Agronomic principles used in Central and Southern Plains' farming, ranching and livestock production as well as excellent knowledge of Ag Chemicals used in these operations
- Knowledge of native and introduced grasses, forages, and legumes very beneficial but can be learned on the job
- Previous sales management experience with strong ability to lead a successful team of seed sales representatives
- Ability to travel to areas where seed sales team is located as needed, but majority is based at home office and assisting walk in customers.
- Exceptional communication and training skill set
- Computer proficiency
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking an experienced Seed Sales Manager for an established Ag Retailer catering to Central and Southern Plains' farming, ranching and livestock operations. This Sales Manager will base his/her activities from the home office of the Employer and will spend time out in the field with the outside sales team. An ideal candidate will have a 4-year college degree, previous sales management experience and good knowledge of native and introduced grasses, forages, and legumes used by Ag producers in this area of the country. Additionally, an ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively, train sales staff regarding product knowledge, build a strong sales team and maintain strong business relationships with customer base of the Employer. Duties/Responsibilities to include:
- Overseeing activities of the territory-based sales staff as well as the inside sales staff.
- Assisting/Directing the media specialist in design and implementation of internet, broadcast and print advertising efforts as well as promotional, technical customer support and public relations initiatives.
- Assisting inside sales staff with customer calls during periods of high telephone traffic.
- Formulating/Implementing sales goals and initiatives and directing assets to best position the company with their dealer network, retail customers and internet presence.
- Keeping Employer advised as to current market trends and assist with company positioning in broker, distributor, dealer and retain arenas.
- Advising Employer in forecasting future seed production and seed acquisition needs.
