- BS degree in viticulture, horticulture, or other agriculture degree with experience, and prefer 5+ years of experience in management and leadership of vineyard
- Manage, participate and perform daily care of vineyard, landscape and crops
- Oversee 5 FT employees and up to another 5 seasonal/PT employees as needed

- Construct and maintain vineyard trellis system
- Operate and oversee maintaining vineyard tools and equipment as well as processing facilities

- Manage and participate with harvest crew which involves finding and retaining part time staff from mid-August to Mid-October
- Experience in operation of mechanical harvester is a preferred
- Skilled with experience in using press in converting grapes, fresh fruit, or even vegetables through a press in making juice is a huge plus
- Grower relations with contract growers, inspecting quality of fruit and yield estimations prior to harvest is needed
- Interest/Experience in vertical integrated farming is a plus


Under the supervision and working with the owner / GM, the manager will perform any combination of following tasks involved in managing operations from the vineyard to juice making. The owner believes for the business to survive, the farming operation needs to fundamentally change how it operates. Expanding on autonomous and semi-autonomous equipment needs to be used to extend the workday, but also allow for pest/disease control to be done more often. Areas of pruning, pest/disease control, and harvest all need to have automation introduced and refined. Developing and utilizing a data driven approach to farming will be expected. The overall size of the farm operation needs to grow (both grape and non-grape crops). This must be done in conjunction with proven Automation, but also look at farming operations in other parts of the country as well if needed. Farm is also looking to expand number of crops grown as the farm needs to grow more non-grape crops that will allow use of labor and equipment when work on grapes starts to lessen. Expanding farming to include more traditional grown crops as well as green house and/or indoor vertical farming will be expected. Over time, the responsibilities will shift from operations manager to more of overall manager of our farm, and oversee growth of our operation. Great location in western New York with several options of good schools and work for a spouse available in the area.
