- Strong Herd Health knowledge
- Strong AI / Reproduction experience
- Strong Feeding/Nutrition experience
- Excellent Organizational skills
- Expansion experience a plus
- Strong Team Leader and Player
- Ability to speak Dairy Spanish. Fluent Spanish is a plus


Job Description:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large dairy operation located in Wisconsin who is searching for a top tier Dairy Manager that has strong dairy management skills to oversee the employee and cattle operations. Successful candidate will be accountable for the overall profitability of the dairy and be expected to stay within budgetary guidelines. Will also be expected to communicate with the entire dairy team and assist with managing and improving the standard operating processes for the dairy. Also responsible for hiring, firing, and training for dairy personnel. Help maintain employee records and get applications, W-4's, I-9 forms, and ID's to bookkeeping for payroll. Will be responsible for employee training, follow ups, and monitoring employees. Will work with Veterinarian and Nutritionist. Responsible for cattle movement decisions and involved in culling decisions. Will fill in herdsman position in an emergency or herdsman day off. Walk every group of cattle at least daily. Responsible for monitoring herd with on farm record system. Manage the nutrition and herd health of the herd. Manage inventory of feed and supplies. Dairy Manager will also be responsible for the mastitis management program, keeping all cows visibly identified both for identification and treatments education meetings, conferences and work with vendors and use their resources, and in charge of lights and curtains, temperatures in barns with designated managers. Will hold and lead regular scheduled meetings. Will need to be familiar with or willing to learn Dairy Comp 305 and Smart Dairy and Feed Watch, and keep farm clean.
