Primary duties are working as a Herdsman over a Wean to Yearling operation with steers and heifers. This person will oversee the parlor and maintain dairy's high standards by ensuring employees are following SOP guidelines. This person will assist with herd health and help oversee that optimal Herd Health is maintained in a manner that is consistent with good animal welfare practices. This person will also: help with AI breeding and reproduction program, take care of monitoring and milking fresh cows and treated cows, preg check, give shots and vaccinations, utilize PC Dart, and help with the maintenance of equipment. The ability to ultrasound cows would be a plus, or willing to learn. Bilingual is a plus. Position could also include: field/construction work, machine maintenance/repair, truck repair, truck driving.

Primary duties will include, calving, doctoring of calves, branding, haying, working on equipment, fencing, moving and checking cows/calves via ATV, pickup, & horseback and then additional haying during the summer months. Looking for a good long-term hand that is willing to jump in and helps where help is needed. Will provide care for two horses for Ranch Hand and one additional horse for each family member. We can also work around if you are not a skilled horseman, we are willing to talk to you too. Pay will be determined by overall experience, skills set, references, and stability. Schools are available via bus service that will transport the kids to and from school. House would be considered above average with 3 bedrooms and make a good home for a family with a couple children.

Need experience in feedlot duties of feeding, walking yard, pulling sick cattle, sorting cattle, vaccinating and yard maintenance. Additional duties may include spring tillage, manure hauling, and silage chopping and packing. Also, run 600 purebred cow herd, so many times may be feeding in the morning and diverse duties in the afternoon. A person must be dependable, have good decision-making skills, be a self-starter and willing to assist in all areas of the operation. Good equipment operation skills would be a plus as will be used as more of a support role in farming when daily feedlot chores are completed. This is a purebred operation, so any experience in working with purebred in a development yard, calving, record keeping, and fitting cattle for show and sale are pluses. Ideally, the employer would like to see someone that has 2-5+ years working experience to bring some leadership, knowledge and upper skill set with them to this position.
