Job Title: Ranch Hand and Maintenance
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is partnering with a Ranch in Texas, to identify a dependable and hardworking Ranch Hand & Maintenance professional to join their team. This is a diverse, hands-on position for an individual who is
comfortable doing whatever needs to be done to keep a large ranch operation running smoothly. The successful candidate will assist with grounds and facility maintenance, equipment operation, hay production, barn and stable upkeep, property maintenance, deliveries, and general ranch duties.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide variety of general ranch hand and maintenance duties.
- Maintain ranch grounds, landscaping, yards, roads, and outdoor areas.
- Operate tractors, skid steers, forklifts, mowers, weed eaters, ATV/UTV equipment, and other ranch machinery.
- Assist with hay work, including mowing, baling, raking, moving, loading, and general field work as needed.
- Clean and maintain barns, stalls, pens, turnout areas, and horse facilities.
- Perform general property and facility maintenance.
- Assist with basic mechanical repairs and troubleshooting.
- Maintain ranch houses, buildings, warehouses, shops, and other facilities.
- Assist with landscaping and general property appearance.
- Help maintain pools and other residential/property amenities as needed.
- Assist with the feeding and animal-health store during activities and busy periods.
- Load, unload, move, and organize feed, hay, animal-health products, supplies, and equipment.
- Make deliveries of feed, hay, animal-health products, and other ranch/store-related materials.
- Take on additional duties and responsibilities based on the needs of the operation.
Experience with the following is highly desirable:
- Tractors
- Skid steers
- Forklifts
- Hay equipment
- Mowers
- Weed eaters
- Bush hogs
- Loaders
- ATV/UT
- Agricultural trucks and trailers
Although this is not a horse-training position, candidates must be very comfortable around horses.
Qualifications
- Previous farm, ranch, agricultural, equipment, maintenance, or other hands-on experience preferred.
- Comfortable around horses and able to ride.
- Tractor and equipment experience preferred.
- Experience with skid steers, forklifts, mowers, ATV/UTV, or hay equipment is beneficial.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate vehicles and agricultural equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
