Candidate Description:

This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate grew up working on his family’s farm, which produces corn silage for local dairies, corn for grain harvest, wheat for backgrounding yearling calves in the winter, wheat for grain harvest, hay grazer for silage as well as for feed for their cow/calf operation. Since 2015 he’s managed their 150 head cow/calf operation by overseeing the herds nutritional needs, grazing patterns, breeding program, calving, weaning, and oversee the yearling calves on wheat in the winter. In the winter, when the job would slow down he would go to stock shows to help friends and family with their show calf programs and help them prep their cattle for competition. After he graduated high school he wanted to learn how he could help his family’s farm produce more so he attended Eastern New Mexico University where he learned various skills in both farm management, crop production, beef production, and earned his Bachelors of Science in Animal/Dairy Science. He has experience operating tractors with auto-steer systems, all types of farm implements as well as center pivots. He has welding and equipment maintenance skills and basic electrical and plumbing experience. He has learned a lot working on his family’s farm but is ready to gain more knowledge and experience by working in Ag production and in a place where he can work on a production farm.
