This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from the University of Idaho and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Ruminant Nutrition. He worked in orchards during high school summers and with cattle while in college. His cattle experience includes working for the University’s Beef Center which runs about 60 cow/calf pairs, the University’s Research Center with about 300 cow/calf pairs and irrigated farmland, and the Washington State University Knott Dairy Center which milks about 150 cows. In these jobs he learned about animal husbandry, hauling livestock, low-stress handling, identifying and treating sick animals, calving, feeding, operating equipment such as tractors, skid-steer loader, livestock trailer, dump truck, etc. He is hardworking, detail-oriented and practical with a desire to find a position that allows him to work toward improving the beef cattle industry.
