This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate was born and raised on a ranch and has many years of experience in working and maintaining large ranches. He has a B.S. Degree in Animal Science/Livestock Management from Montana State University - Bozeman and continued education includes: many courses in Holistic Management, and courses in Managing Change, Adult Knowledge Transfer, Human Relations and many others. His main focus and goals are to improve overall ecological land health, livestock production and stocking rates, wildlife enhancement and to produce a profit. This has been accomplished through the writing and execution of ranch and wildlife plans, proper planning and timing of livestock grazing, reduced inputs and marketing. He believes matters most regarding profits are reproductive rates and production costs per animal unit; both of which are directly related to the health of the land. His knowledge, skills land abilities include: sound decision-making skills, livestock management, calving, breeding, health, nutrition, bull and heifer selection, doctoring, shipment and low-stress livestock handling, budget and management of expenses and cash flow, irrigation, hay production, feeding, routine vehicle, machinery maintenance and repair, construction, maintenance and repair of livestock water systems, roads, buildings, corrals and fences including electric fence. He has planned (rotational) grazing strategies. Candidate has excellent communication and human relation skills. He knows and understands how to effectively supervise employees through creating an environment of open and honest communication. By understanding and developing the talents and knowledge of each employee through good communication and building trust makes everyone feel a part of the team. Candidate possesses integrity, credibility, and honesty; and is very creative, a problem solver, self-starter, pays attention to details, computer literate, effective planner, and is seeking a long-term position.
