This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate’s rural upbringing and ranching background have instilled a strong work ethic, honesty, and integrity, and work experience that provides the skills necessary for a long-term ranch employee. He has spent the last 10 years overseeing the year-round care of 1,100 cows, as well as the summering of 1,200 yearlings. He calves both the spring and fall herd. He is proficient in spotting calving problems and determining the proper solution for them. He responsible for the daily care of the cow herd and yearlings in terms of animal health and feeding. He is proficient at doctoring cattle in the pasture horseback using low stress methods. He has trained four to six high school students per summer to run and maintain haying equipment for the haying crew that he oversees and through this experience has learned to communicate clearly, provide clear expectations, and check in with each employee daily to make any needed adjustments. He is hard working, self-motivated, honest, and reliable. He is organized and keeps equipment and facilities in meticulous condition. He takes great pride in maintaining equipment and would treat your equipment like his own. He has strong critical thinking skills and enjoys working with others. Growing up in rural Nebraska and ranching, he learned that being early to the job is a priority and to take pride in your work at the end of the day.
