Candidate Description:
This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate earned his Master of Agriculture with emphasis in Agribusiness, Ranch Management, Resource Management and Sustainability from Colorado State University in 2009 and a Master of Science with emphasis in Physiology, Nutrition, Fetal Programming and Beef Systems from University of Nebraska in 2012. He is currently the General Manager of 25,000 head finish/starter feedlot in Colorado overseeing each area of the enterprise. Some of his responsibilities include employee relations (hire/payroll), cattle health and processing, commodity purchase and management, water and lagoon management, capital expenditures (machinery), managing new facility construction (mill/scale/buildings). In the past he's also worked as Cattle Manager where he developed a 400 head commercial herd of cattle into a purebred simm-angus cattle herd that produced bulls and quality replacement heifers. He was responsible for all herd health, AI, preg checking and genetic progression associated with the cattle herd while also managing natural resources such as water, minerals and vegetation.
